Wow - great time if you're in the market for an RSR rep - looks like a choice of 3 at the moment as here's another great car here from Paul Stephens !!

That would be telling.

We're just waiting for a price on a suitable 12 plug dizzy then are planning to advertise it as is at one figure or with papers for a bit more.

But to give you an idea, I'd do a straight swap for the yellow car and bag of quavers.

Seriously though, bearing in mind it's a 73 car with a 73 motor, has competition history and some genuine RSR bits, it's a different thing to the other few that are available. This car could go racing...

The intended meaning of that comment was that it is mechanically altogether, rather than mechanically accurate - rebuilt engine, box, suspension, etc all this year.

I'll revise it for clarity.

I dunno what gearbox is in it now but I had a ride in it when it first came in to Tuthills. It was the fastest 911 I had been in up to that point - superb throttle response. Faster than anything 3 litre and faster than the green 3.4 ST.

Overtook 5 cars up a short squirt of a hill where you normally struggle to get past two!

John forgot to add: "And I drive like a vicar".

This is one of these cars you just wanna wring its neck without worrying too much about the NOS 2.8RSR tumblers and the date stamped washers in the correct yellow passivated hue that were done by den Alten Hartmut behind werks1:lol: . Shame about the price

By the way, I see Carlo's old C3 targa on sale now. Nice score.

apart from the washers, I've always thought that to be able to call a car an accurate and correct replica you need to incorporate the fundamental
basic elements that made the original so special in the first place, so as to be able re-create the feel and look but above all the driving experience
of the original.

In the case of a 73 RSR those fundamentals are high butterfly injection, a twin dizzy and 11" rears, this car being touted as something a bit special
and therefore so expensive they can't even put a price on it, has none of those 3 elements.

Of course they are offering the dizzy and wheels, if you want to pay a shed load more.........

now back to those washers, Bert, I think you'll find the the 73 washers are chrome coloured with black surrounds not yellow passivated.......
