Introducing myself 716 XUY
After one or two 'early' posts here, I am introducing myself to the DDK forum.
Since passing my test many years ago on a '55 Beetle, I graduated through numerous aircooled Citroen 2CVs finally in around 1996 to 911s. I owned several working my way initially around the IB variants, via a single 996, on to 993s. After driving a superb 993C2S for a few years, I gave up Porsches - young family, house building etc.
The summer before this, we were in deepest Texas, in Big Bend Country a few miles from the Mexican border and I saw and subsequently bought a white 1959 356A T2.
The car was shipped from Houston in Autumn 2009. It has been a long and tortuous story with it only getting on to the open road 10 days ago, if only to drive to a specialist to have shipping damage rectified.....
So, in a year, I have only so far driven it for a weekend. But it was a magnificent weekend and the pleasure of owning a Porsche has returned.
I have dropped in to the DDK forum over the last year and enjoyed enormously the general porsche chat, much of which I have experienced with previous cars and much of which I expect to experience with my 'A'.
I intend to use the car as much as possible and not preen over it in a garage. It was is regular use in the US and I plan to continue that here within reason.
Have attempted to post 3 pictures as well........ hope it works.
Best, Nick

Welcome to DDK. Your car looks great.
I notice several people recently have posted about shipping damage from the US. Is it becoming a common occurrence? Can these guys be trusted?
Or are they just overgrown couldn't care less baggage handlers?
Regards
Mike
