Hello all,

I'm new here, thought I'd say hello before I try a shameless plea for parts!

I acquired a 911 project last year (a '77 coupe) and have been trying to get it back on the road since then, on a 'do everything myself' kind of budget. I've put a 3.2 engine into it and just want to get it roadworthy. I think it's always going to be the tattiest 911 on the road but it's mechanically sound and I'm hoping it serves me well until such a time when I can afford to backdate and respray properly.

I've had a build thread on IB for a good while but only really discovered you chaps at Le Mans Classic this year. I'll get a build thread up here once I've had a mooch around for a while!

Hi james. one of the most fun cars i own is my 944S2 which is one of the tattiest Porsches you will ever come across BUT it's machanically sound.
i basically can enjoy it without worrying about it getting damaged.
i bought it for peanuts, spent next to nothing on it just really enjoy driving it.

which at the end of the day is what we own these cars for...so get that car of your on the road and enjoy it.

Keith, I'm in Stoke on Trent but I work in Stafford. Did I follow you along Weston Road up towards Beaconside the other week? I was in a little green Seven.

Helen, I understand! All my cars are cheap and tatty looking but my view is that they if it looks too good, it turns into a garage queen, and every time you take it out you worry about supermarket prangs, stone chips and tree sap, I don't like the idea of that! Besides, who's got time to polish a car anyway?

Ahh, gods country, I lived in the potteries til about 10 years ago, all my relatives are still there so Im always popping over.
Wasnt me you followed, both my porsches are off the road, unless i was in the Rx7 ???
