Goodwood Breakfast Club this Sunday

I am thinking of going to the Goodwood Breakfast Club on Sunday, as I havnt been to one before, what can I expect, as this is a christmas one, will there be stalls selling christmasy stuff or is this the same as the others, just cars. The reason I ask is the family might want to join me and if it is just cars they will be bored within 5mins.

Is anyone else going from DDK and what time should I aim to get there, I have pre registered in anticipation of going any way.

what is the theme - or is it just a pre x mas free for all ?

It is billed as "Christmas cracker free for all" so any car is acceptable I presume.

Not sure yet if I will be going. Never been to a December one. I would think there might be a few stalls as well as the food ones there. Normally most have people have gone by lunch time. Maybe its much busier than I think it might be?

If I go, I will look out for you.

I had hoped to make this one, would have been a nice way to finish the 'Goodwood' year. I'm not sure there will be stalls - I've been to most GWBC this year and they all tend to follow same format (and nothing wrong with that). Like Roy says, most people are leaving by lunchtime, so get there early.

For me - well, a few weeks back I had a meal at out local Italian, got a bit drunk and made an offer to one of the waiters for his 1959 Lambretta. Picking it up on Sunday morning now

But how will we know who you are once you walk away from your cars? Maybe a photo of the wrist-watch that you will be wearing might help. (For all you horologists out there!)

I will be wearing my 1962 Omega Constellation but if I manage to get there and its as cold as today then I will wear some gloves so you won't see it anyway!!!

The watch looks in better condition than me.

Nice choice of watch, It might just inspire me to get my 1956 Rolex explorer out of the safe, not worn that since Goodwood Revival.

However I think looking at the weather I will probably be wearing my everyday beater, Patek Philippe Aquanaut on rubber strap.

Will do Steve - I think it's in a slightly sorry state of repair. I'm buying it for a bit of "spanner fun" in the spring, so it will go in the garage over winter. The idea is to see if I can strip it and re-build it with my 10 yr old son. I read of so many people here who can do so much on their cars and wish I'd got the ability - so the plan is start with something simple like a scooter, and by doing it with my son then maybe it will give him a bit of a passion too. All sounds too perfect. The reality will probably be I end up forking out and paying someone else to rebuild it!

Simon, you have the right idea starting with a scooter. Take lots of photos of each item before you remove it, take your time and get some workshops books maybe from e-bay before you start. Two strokes are a little different and you need to understand the electrics and how the spark is generated before you use your spanners.

I bet you and hopefully your son will enjoy doing it.
