Anyone going to NEC Classic Car Show

Post by TheBaron »

Just wondered if anyone was going up to the NEC this wkend, I checked future events but no mention.

I am going up on Friday for the day in the Ace, (outlawed 356) if I can get the clutch sorted, think the cable has snapped.

Regards

Would have gone if we were displaying, otherwise it's a bit expensive and a fair journey.

NEC Classic car Show

Post by waltham wanderer »

Noticed a few comments about cost of this event.

If you go on to show website , go to Buy Tickets section and enter CLUBS09 in Special Offer code - you get a huge reduction. I think I got Saturday tickets for just £13.

You can only get 2 tickets per application.

See you there !

It's my sons b'day on Friday, he doesn't want a party but instead wants to go to the classic car show. I suppose I'll have to go on Saturday  .
He's only 8, looks like I've brought him up well :)

Not a bad show, the Top Gear Live show was crap, just a repeat of every other year really.

Some great cars, check put the Red 356 carrera for sale in hall one cant remember the stand number but can remember the price £275000 that has to be the most expensive yet, not that good a car not for that money anyway.

Picked up some good books in the market and a few tools

Terrible drive back in hurricane winds and driving rain, but the Ace performed faultlessly.

My friends 1971 911 s broke down, the alternator gave up and so did the lights and windscreen wipers with it.

Just back and I thought it was an excellent show....but I haven't been for quite a few years....I think my fave was a Citroen DS for £55k

I'll post a couple of piccies tomorrow....not a whole pile of early Porsche interest tho...I think this is show we ought to think about organsing ourselves for next year :)
