Hi all, my CSP alloy pulley leaks around the seal. The pulley bolt is as tight as I wish to go which is beyond the Porsche specs. The pulley was a very tight fit on the crank. The seal is only a few miles old and looks like it has always leaked. The seal was fitted with sealant and a proper seal tool.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Did you solve he problem with a hammer?
Answers please?

did you lubricate the seal when the pulley was fitted , could the very tight pulley have cracked when you fitted it , it pays to warm alloy pulleys when fitting they expand a fair bit, and did you fit the oil thrower behind the seal, IE before the timing cover went on , lastly you can get leaks on the outside from behind the pulley bolt , I normally fill the cavity left in the end of the crank with RTV before I fit the bolt , this seals this oil escape route, best of luck you'll fix it Bill.

pulley leak
Hi Bill, thanks for the advice. I didnt fill the cavity at the end of the crank. I will give it a go. Have to get the pulley off without busting it though. Just bought a custom made puller for the job. I have given the man the width and depth for the pulley. Any other stuff I should tell him let me know please?
