C production according to 356 registry:

Year coupe cabriolet Total
1963 8275 933 9208
1964 12407 1744 14151
1965 1101 588 1689
1966 0 10 10

If a C reg is for vehicles registered after Jan '65 I wonder how many cars are acutally in the UK that could use this plate :?:

Some years ago the number 356A came up for sale. I couldn't believe it at the time. I wouldn't have changed my WYL8 number but it did make me think how good that would have looked on an origial 356A.

I don't remember how much it went for now.

I'll quote you on that Hendrik!

http://www.barons-auctions.com/details. ... PO356C.htm

So its actually APO 356C. Still seems cheap!, altho you have to use gangsta language to get the full effect, "its the schizzle for my Po' 356, sho'nuff"

For me this, like most (not all) private regs, is in the trying-too-hard bracket.

Hey James, you must have a good database? to give such a good and quick response to the 356A number plate price!

Re "356A", I had a conversation with Paul (PR Services) last year and I'm sure he said that he (or one of his mates) had recently acquired that plate. Or it may have been "A 356". Either way, it was more than the figures quoted above. I am happy to be corrected of course

Roy, the info is taken straight from the DVLA's website.
Simon, the prices quoted are dated the time they were sold by the DVLA - any subsequent trading is not shown also remember, those prices are now 12+ years old

Very true. There is a DVLA auction on this week, with some rather good plates in it. I've made a note of a few to see what they finally go for, but it does seem that DVLA auctions offer pretty good value.

I have a friend who's just acquired a morris minor in the barn with his new house. The reg is AHJ 356A. Obviously As weren't '63 cars but it may interest someone out there. Anyone have any idea what it could be worth?

Cheers
