The oil warning guage on my 356 is broken. I fitted an aftermarket guage to keep an eye on the engine. What range should I start to get worried at? Above 150 degrees C?

Any thuoghts would be appreciated.

Mine seems to run at boiling point all the time... maybe that's the orthopaedic shoe on my right foot

It never starts from hot though, how about yours?

Hi Cubist,

When the car was hot it did not even turn over, changed earth leads, batteries, main power lead, starter, starter bush, cleaned fuse box connections etc etc. Nothing helped. leave it to cool for 30 minutes and hey presto starts first time.

Finally resorted and changed to 12v. Well at least it starts :D and you can see at night 8)

Doing the 12V thang in july now i'm using it again... i've just replaced the bluecoil with an old Judson magneto and it starts a lot better and a lot stronger... still keep twatting bunnies at night though even with tungsten 6V bulbs! How stupid are they...

You going to VWoodstock next weekend?

Meant to ask, what type of belt did you use for the N0 plate?

Hard luck matey!

Is Bug Boogie down on the Sarf coast? I'll have to see. As soon as VWoodstock's out of the way i've got no more 'credits' so it's head long into DIY land and the new bathroom to build up some more.

Also, Trekker's sitting on axle stands looking a little lost and lonely so might have to put some effort into getting the new stubaxles fitted-up and it needs a new muffler... :(

The belts are cutdown interior luggage straps which i had kicking about. Not as sacreligous as it sounds - they were both shagged anyway

Its on July 10th (weekend before Walton Hall) I'd like to get a decent line up for Ultra as they have been great to us. Chances are I'll try and get there with the stand but we need cars
