I have a kenwood stereo which is he type that the front rotates to hide all the buttons when turned off. I have the security code but do not have the instructions for the stereo, does anyone know what I have to do once I have entered my security code as I have tried to hit all the buttons and does not seem to do anything!!
Can anyone email me the instructions to how to enter the security code or tell me if i have to hit another button once the code has been entered
Many thanks
David

Hi David, Do you know what model the stereo is? If it turns around it is a mask model, and as you have to enter a number is is probably pre 1999 as post 99 they came with a transponder key to input the code. If is is pre 1999, then i think it is 3 strikes and your out - ie the chip freezes after three sepatate goes at entering the code. It has to be taken back to Kenwood at this point (who incidently now don't have an electronics department so might be tricky).
I had a R787 at one point and i might still have the box and instructions to confirm the exact procedure for code input. It is usually '**** (Code)' then 'menu'. However, before you do that let me know the model and i will see what i can find.

ha!! i've got the same problem with a kenwood. all the keys are locked but it still plays the cd's in the autochanger. unfortunately i can't skip tracks, cd's or change the volume.
listening to tracks i haven't listened to in ages...... seeing as the stereo is drowned out by the engine unless i've stopped at some lights it hasn't really bothered me though....
will watch this topic with interest however!!
