DDK at NEC CLASSIC CAR SHOW. 14th-16th NOV 2008

Post by Helen »

i have confirmation that we have a stand suitable for 4 cars (at a squeeze 5) =one of each model including reps ??

now the fun of organising it starts. :P

things we NEED/would like

1) it would be good if we had some sort professional looking free standing(very stable) ddk advertising boards for the display or space deviders that posters could be pinned to.

2) some carpet/flooring for a 15m x 5.5m

3) chairs & table or maybe a couple of comfy sofas and a coffee table

4) printed DDK leaflets to give out

5) DDK stickers, badges, balloons, - freebies to hand out.

6) DDK shop/items for sale= t-shirts, key rings, mugs, membership packs

Budget for this project is £0..

Stand space is free
insurence is £135 = i'll donate this if need be but donations would be welcome.

can anyone help with any of the above or have helpful suggestions.(i've not done this sort of thing before) i would quite like to have a few working computors to show people the forum but electric supply will be at a cost.

BTW people with cars on the stand will get free passes & parking at the show but they will have to attend all three days & help man the stand.
cars have to be in play by tursday evening and can not be removed from the stand untill the sunday evening after the show closes to the public.

all DDK members will be able to buy discounted tickets for the show.

Helen, I'm happy to donate the printing of the leaflets and to produce a display graphic (or two).
Let me know what you want the leaflets to say and I'll get some artwork done.
I can produce a free standing pull-up banner (approx 2m tall x 0.8m wide, graphic retracts into the base) and I've got plenty of photos we can use on that.

I can't help with any printing, capets or sofas. but I would love to come along and help out for part of one day. Are you thinking of 1 each 356, 911, 912, 914 and a replica? Perhaps we could have a poll of our favorite DDK cars to select the stand cars.

Paul you are a star. to make things simple the leaflets could be these

and i think the pull up free standing displays would be great as we could transport them easily and use them again at other events. 8)

my original idea for the stand was to have a 356 at diffrent stanges of restoration so we could talk about that side of the club BUT, thinking about it that might be difficult to put togeather and also would exclude a large portion of the DDK membership SO i feel a nice example of each pre 1973 model and including a replica (possable my apal ?) would be a more representative display of DDK.

Nick could you supply a 911? one undergoing restoration could infact be quite intereting/ a good talking point. and of course if you could attend too. that would be great either as a ordinary member or as sponcership of the stand? (i'm thinking aloud here). i will only have anough free passes for people with cars on the stands. but it would be great if ddk members came along and helped meet and greet on the stand. it needs to be as clubby and friendly as possable. so the more people nattering around the cars the better.

Hi all

As we have a trade stand at the show, I could take some stuff if needed.

I can also supply chairs and tables. I probably have enough carpet tiles and tape (but not the time to fit them alas !)....plenty of storage space if needed and possibly one or two tickets I wont need...

The 993rs will be on my stand...otherwise I can offer a very grotty 65 911, chesil speedster part finished, 356 S90 shell or a tractor !

let me know....RA

I'll happily sponsor £250's worth towards Balloons, stickers, etc. These things are soooooooo important at shows/exhibitions. If you need some of any of those things done with DDK logos, I can get them produced down yer, but you may want to have em done up thar if you have others contributing (Kwolitee Kontrole, etc.)
Happy to muck in as you see fit. like if someone wants to do so many stickers and I do Balloons, coo-ell. Whatever.

carpet tiles, tape(i'm sure we could fit them) and table and chairs would be great please. ad i'm sure any spare tickets you have would find good homes as the more people we have manning the stand the better. as we can all have some time off to look around the rest of the show.

I would be very pleased to sponsor the stand, and, say, pay the insurance and put in an extra £250 for other expenses and supply a car, but I don't want to take advantage, so if anyone has a problem or wants to share the sponsorsip, then I am open to suggestions.
