I'm after a replacement for mine as whilst I was stripping the door tonight the spindle where the lift assist coil spring slots into snapped clean off without apparent provocation!
Anyone got something stashed away?

that alloy part is the 'weakest link
after buying a used mechanism-only to find the same problem i made one easily enough from an old porsche wheel stud - stronger, less likely to fracture, and it works well ..
not sure if the alloy part is repro'd or available from porsche dealers, but 15 mins with a file and a 1mm cutting disc made sure i didnt have to find out.
it works perfectly, and although it is fractionally heavier than the composite original- i redressed the balance by hoovering the mats
