everything i`d need to build an engine, apart from heads and possibly case and conrods, (although if the price was right i`d need them too)

basically i`m looking to build a engine for my 59a, so dont neccessarily need it all at one, but if the price was good would be nice to get all the bits collected in 1 go

i`ve realised i cant compete with the prices folks want for complete engines, but i`d ideally prefer a porsche engine rather than a vw one,

i`m very tempted to go into spiralling debt just before chrimbo to buy this ...... seen the pics and it looks really good

.........but i will need to sell a kidney to get it and the wife WILL divorce me

thats why i`m looking for the parts to see if i could build a block for less, got a potential case, rods and heads in the states for a good price possibly, so was trying to work out how much more i`d need to spend to get close to a complete engine

I sold an excellent kit one recently to a chap on VZi... i'll look out for his address as I think he still has it. It was a 60hp but with 1720 B+Ps, stinger etc... there were lots of rare parts with it and a stack of new bits too

Just had another look - he sold it on to a chap that bought a 356C off me to restore! He's called Tony (Red Dwarf on VZi) - nice bloke - might be worth contacting as he was tracking down stacks of stuff for the C...

out of interest, what kind of money did you sell the bag of bolts on for ?

I think it was about £1150 when all in - not too bad for a matching pieces full engine ready to re-assemble, but there were also some nice bits like lumpy cam and twin plug heads etc I came away with two trekkers and a mountain of pervy parts... everybody happy!
