Hi everyone- I have just recently joined DDK, after having had just a bit too much of the 'Matching tie and handkerchief' clique that is the essence of PCGB. A bunch of snooty social climbers, most of whom would not know a true enthusiasts Porsche if it fell on their head from outer space....
Anyway, a bit about me.
I am a 'classic aircooled Porsche' specialist, having worked exclusively on these cars for the past twenty five years. I have long since lost count of the number of cars we have restored, for customers all over the world (even had one sent to me from Korea!)
I have had all sorts of 911's and 356's over the years, but only recently taken a serious interest in 914's.
I have recently acquired a 914/6, which I am turning into a GT. At the moment the car is on my body jig, for all the necessary welding work, rollcage fitting, etc. I am slowly collecting all the engine and gearbox goodies. (anyone got a Marelli twin plug for about ten quid?? oh, alright, fifteen if you insist!!)
I also have a '73 914 2.0litre, with quite a reasonable RHD conversion, but not Crayford, a 356cab, and an SC.
After twenty five years of being totally immersed in these cars, I think I have amassed a fair bit of knowledge and experience of pretty much all aspects of these cars, and would be quite happy to offer any free technical help that I can to anyone that needs it.
My company is called Autovitesse: my landline is 01494 776911; my mobile is 07709 771356.
P.S. I have piles of secondhand bits and pieces for 'real Porsches', so if you are in need of anything, it may be worth a phone call. I won't skin you alive on prices, assuming I have what you need!!
Thanks for reading this rambling blurb: hope I can be of help to any fellow members!
