912 carb linkage

OK, today I removed my carbs and started to strip and rebuild them. Whilst they were off I noticed that the linkage arms do not look the same at each end. The one on the left (near side) seems to have more of a kink in it than the one on the right (off side) Could anyone tell me if this is normal or has one of my arms got bent at some point? I'm geussing this could be partly to blame for my uneven carb suck at different revs.

Nope, its running weber 40 IDF's
