914 Steering Steering Wheel

Post by Barry »

Anyone got a spare? Literally any condition considered, as it'll be leather covered.

Many thanks :) .

Copied from the 914 section:

Are you looking for a 380mm wheel ?

I'm fairly sure I have a few spares...

I'll check tomorrow - floods permitting.

Thanks Andy: yes it's a 380 I'm after.

Don't forget the following:

Flares (inshore)
Lifejacket.
Compass and charts.
VHF radio.
Radar reflector.
Liferaft.

and most importantly.....

Thanks Mark: I don't know whether Andy got a chance to look or not, either way if you do find you've got one, let me know :) .

Unfortunately one of my neighbours crashed into my car this morning severely damaging the front o/s wing :x ...

By the time I'd pulled it out enough to clear the tyre & to be able to open the driver's door the rain had arrived again & the M4 was jammed.

I've gone through the steering wheels I have at home (about 30-35 !!) & found that I have six 380mm Porsche wheels but they're all leather-rimmed 914/6 wheels (as fitted to the 2.7 RS) so wouldn't be cheap.

I'm sure I have more in my garages - hopefully I should be able to check in the morning.

Thank you very much Andy: I'll await your findings.

Hopefully you'll have a slightly better day as well  .

BTW, Sorry to hear you're down to your last 30-35 wheels at home, must be a worry  .

Barry - I have 2 x 380mm wheels which may be of interest:

Wheel 1 is an imitation leather wheel (part no. 914.347.809.00 dated 7/74) - would be an ideal candidate for recovering in leather:

Wheel 2 is the hard plastic version (part no. 914.347.804.11 dated 5/74):

2) Donation of £25 to MacMillan Trust (inc P&P)

Andy, I'll take the top one please, if nothing else it'll leave a 914 wheel available 'as is'.

Thank you very much, and very generous. I've sent a P.M. with some details, but I'll match you, if that's O.K., so forty to Macmillan if that's right?
