What about a 912 international

Post by Der Fudgemeister »

Well,

There are 356 and 914 International events about Europe every year so i was just wondering why not a 912 International :P

Looking at the 912 Registry membership the UK, Germany, Holland and Belgium alone have over 160 members with other Euro zone 912 owners around surely there must be potential for such an event or am i drinking too much Timothy Taylors :drunken: Landlord to get my head around the logistics of it all.

All comments both +ve and -ve are welcome

Rick,

Dare I mention PCGB stuff on DDK?

There's been a LOT of talk between 'certain people' and myself about an Early 911 / 912 International along the relaxed lines of the Hedingham event.

Would people be interested?

The 356 International events are VERY expensive and centred around posh hotels and black tie events - my thoughts are NOTHING like this but centred around a venue with camping, hog roast, beer tent / festival, maybe live music - more CAMRA than black tie

Would people come?

I like pmjt's idea, I'd be up for something along those lines, nice relaxed weekend of beer, music, grub and cars sounds great :)

But back to Rick's suggestion.....I'm not poo-poo'ing Phillips, but there are a good number of 12 owners in Euroland, and I think a dedicated 912 event celebrating the four-pot wonders would be fantastic :thumbright: How about a trip to the Netherlands to hook up with these guys....... http://www.deklassieke912.nl/index.html....just as a starting suggestion?

I'd chip in with any help Rick :)

Exactly these reasons why I've never been interested in the 356 international events, I reckon Phil's formula would be a winner, whether 912 only or joint 911/912 8)
