911 Gearbox

Post by Simon Rudge »

Hi, I have to admit I did not know what I was looking at!

When I got my car, it was (and still is) in lot of pieces. What I did not understand at the time was the different gearboxes.

I have an apparently good 901 transmission, with the push clutch mechanism, when I actually need a 911 transmission.

Has anyone got one, ideally to swop with my 901, or to sell? Does anyone want to buy a 901?

I can arrange transport etc and will be at Husbourne as well.

I have to say, I am learning something new every day!

Thanks
Simon

Hi Simon,

The other option you have is keep the box you have and find an early fly wheel, thus using the early style clutch. What engine do you have?

Hi Alan,

Good thought, I have a 2.2E motor, how will the earlier box stand up to that?

Hi Simon,

If the box is in good condition, it will be fine.
