The 25th (is that silver?) anniversary issue of Clasic and Sports Car has celebrated its birthday with the best classic cars for under £25K (see what they did there  ).

So they whittled down to the top five (after many arguments) and headed for the Peak District.... "Two dawn starts, one full English breakfast, getting lost in the mists of doom...to declare the finest classic car you can buy for a reasonable sum"

Cut a long story short, a '73 2.4E comes out top trump. In the mix are a 4.2 S1 e-type, MGB, Lotus 7 and Mini Cooper S.

Won't have time to scan the article this week, but suggest you'll get a lot of return for £4 spent in the newsagent. It's a bumper issue.

And I thought they were anti-Porsche...
