Seats are for a purpose - car has done number of European Historic rallies (regularity type) - and are extremely comfortable and supportive. But, yes, naff looking!

Not my workshop - Francis Tuthill's - it's their 'stores'

Price? Well I bought it, so must have been reasonable to me

Do you need a navigator?

I noticed a Retrotrip in front of the navigator's seat! I suspect a previous owner has entered a number of Regularity events...but do not recognize it as an HRCR contender.

Sure is - but it's orange to me!

Tempting, Brod  You certainly have a background in the sport... But it's been 30 years since I drove in anger and I need to think long and hard. Car needs a bit of work to bring it up to scratch, but then.... :?:

Especially like the idea of supporting Macmillan as I lost my wife through cancer 3 years ago

I'm only in the Lincs Wolds...

Sorry to hear about your wife, my first father in law and mother in law both died of cancer and now Carolyn's cousin's wife. I've just finished chemo and return to the hospital next Wednesday to make sure all is well...and then six monthly check-ups.

We would be delighted if you decide to click on our website...at least this way all the money goes to Macmillan directly. And they've already had about £400 from our efforts.

I don't know what to say when people say the big C word..All I can say is it's a jaw dropping world when things like this happen, I support as much as I can, both localy and nationaly where and when I can.

Lets hope there will be a day that this world will get a break though and understand a terrible illness and give people all the hope in the world when they are diagnosed.

Having seen this wee beastie in the flesh - it's gorgeous! :-)

The paint is stunning and panel fit one of the best - well done Mick - it's a very pretty car.

*caugh* sure sure, the sensation of speed in an RS rep is all relative...

O btw, did I hear the subject of navigation? As in telling which is the right way way to go? My good man, there are some that proclaim you need that on most routes

912 is looking very nice indeed. Congrats!

[quote="Mick Cliff"]New aquisition - anyone know it?

I have been doing a bit of thinking...but could be down the wrong rabbit hole.

The colour, the rallying bits and the fact that it is from Francis Tuthill leads me to suspect that this could be the 912 that started me thinking about buying one. There was a similarly coloured 912 on the 2000 12th Classic Marathon driven by an American with his father as navigator. I have a feeling that the car was on Californian plates then, a situation that gave the owner a little bit of grief with the US authorities. The car was 'looked after' by Francis Tuthill whilst owner was in the States in order that European events could be entered!

Could this ring any bells?

I'll have a dig around to see if I have any lists left from the Classic Marathon that may help!

It may be worth having a look at James Kraus's website...

Yep... Well spotted
It's the ex James Kraus car, with at least one other owner in between
The car did the 12th Classic Marathon in 2000 and 4 or 5 other European events in the period 2000 - 2003
Glad that it rekindled some good memories for you
