Michelin TB15

Anyone tried the new TB15's on their car?
Michelin have remanufactured the famous rally tyre of the seventies.
I fancy some for my ST rep.

Back in the 70's & 80's the range originally comprised SB (slick/dry), TB (mix dry/damp) and PB (wets).
The TB is now recreated in 15" with the same design as before using modern compounds. More importantly it now has tread depth indicators, ETRTO size markings, DOT & EU numbers etc. making this tyre unique, as it's pretty much a road legal racing tyre. I saw some at Retromobile and they look about as sexy as a tyre can look.
I'm sure they'd be grippy but I'm guessing they wouldn't wear too well. Being a racing tyre the tread blocks aren't too deep to start with.

Importantly there's a great range of sizes. For the 7" & 9" rims I'm going with I'd choose the 215/55R15 on the front and the 270/45R15 on the rears (they even do a 335/35R15 for 11" to 13" wide wheels!)

Does anyone have any experience with them?

I ran these on my HSR Chevette. Great in the dry somewhat interesting using TB's in the rain though! They didn't wear out in 5K miles of quickish roads use and a few 12 car rallies.

Personally I think they look spot on and am hoping to afford a set for my R esque hot rod.

I think Longstone Tyres are a good supplier.

335/35 on 12.5" rears and 270/45 on 9" fronts. The customer wants to go down one size at the front so the 270/45s will go on my 9" minilites on the rear of my ST
