Phil

Nice write up on your 911S in 911PW this month, along with mention of DDK and Hot66.

Cracking little car with interesting history.

One picture shows a passenger headrest, but not all of them !

Is the opening shot in the big sawmill at Summerbridge ?

Thanks  It's a superb article by Johnny - and the photos are stunning - I have a ROM of the hi-res versions and plan on having one or two blown up and hung on my study wall

 The driver's side headrest brackets were away for chroming when the photos were taken - I was in Singapore and didn't realise it was off  Don't worry - it's safely in the garage

Yup - well spotted  About three minutes up the road and a stunning choice by Pete for the photos.

When Johnny came up to do the feature on the DDK Northern Run, the plan was that I'd be in my RS and Johnny in LYV - unfortunatly, I had to go to Asia - so Johnny came up and did the Northern Run in the morning and then came accross to the house for the LYV article.

If anyone here reads Land Rover Owner, last month also had my Velar (Chassis 100/6, the earliest surviving Range Rover) - which Johnny and Pete went up to Newton Aycliffe the following morning to write up

He's a busy man that Johnny Tipler

Is that the Tuscan Blue one that was in C&SC not long ago Phil? What a beauty, I love the early Range Rovers, will definitely buy another one day.

No - she's Red (can't remember the colour name - it was pre-production so not a standard red anyway) AOY 289H - Land Rover made four 'driveable chassis' - literally engine and a seat, chassis no.s: 100/1, 100/2, 100/3 & 100/4. I believe only one chassis still exists and is now owned by the Range Rover Register.

The first prototypes with bodies were 100/5 and 100/6 - 100/5 was written off on an airfield in 1969 - so 100/6 is the first prototype remaining.
