Assuming we do it at all (which I suspect we can take as a given ).

Stay with Macmillan, or support a different charity each year?

Just as a kick-off, I know that Nick Moss was talking about a 911 panel and trim master-class, but I'd be happy to do one on simple repair section forming and welding basics: this sort of thing:

Anyway, now that we're into the New-Year and relative normality has returned I thought perhaps it was worth a thought .

Naturally I would support remaining with Macmillan Cancer Support as I am still raising funds for this excellent charity anyway. Total on Christmas Day 2006, including promised contributions not yet collected, was just over £1000.

And we would like more.

(Phase 1 of my treatment is about to end. Then Phase 2 in about 2 months.)

Me too, lost two friends to cancer last year, both with asbestos related cancers, I come into contact with the stuff all the time but now take all the precautions avaliable, suprisingly very few people do.

For what it's worth, I would quite like to stay with the same charity, particularly as it stikes a personal chord with such a large percentage of us.

Someone I worked for held traction engine rallies from the 60's onwards, always for Cancer Research: it was quite nice because they struck up a very good relationship with charity. Forty odd years later they are still going. The point is that they can now look back at the chunks of millions (if not 'whole' millions) raised over the years, all started from that one first event.

Any other thoughts? I would suggest that, like last year, this thread runs for a fortnight or so just to get a wide opinion?

I think it remains a good choice, I'm sure most of us have been touched one way or another by the effects of cancer.

Biased though I am, I believe this to be a good call!

Chemo treatment finished on Wednesday...now I wait for the next phase.

But still pushing the fundraising bit for this charity through our fundraising website. Please feel free to contribute anything...every penny helps (or rouble, dinar, yuan or dollar) the work these people do.
