One for the owners of MFI equipped cars.

Thought it would be good to put together a list of the UK's MFI experts based on DDK'ers recommendations

Hopefully this can give us all a more informed choice on where to get our MFI fettled / set up

I'll start with those who have actually done some work on my MFI. This is not including other companies I think are good / better , but have not actually used.

Company: Specialist Cars of Malton

Mechanic: Old Mike

Work done: Basic fine tuning.

Opinion : Mike has been looking after 911 rally ars since the late '60's & appears to know MFI pretty well. Car has always run well after Mike has played around. He has recommended I book my car in for him to spend some time seting up th eMFI to reduce my over fueling

Jez looks after all my cars and is a wizard with both carbs and MFI, ask Ferryman.

Strasse - Leeds

Dave Sutherland (or is it Sunderland?). AKA "The Legend"

Used to build and maintain the Carrera RS's that Jack Tordoff (JCT600) rallied in the 70's. No bovine manure, just gets on with it. He set up mine oh, 18 months ago and I haven't touched it since (p'raps I should?).

reduce my over fueling

Have you had the injectors checked out? Seems to be a fairly common 'problem' on higher mileage cars (don't know what yours has done) from what I've read.

Fred Pentacost's just rebuilt my pump, seems to have done a really good job but I havn't finished setting her up yet, Any suggestions for a rolling road in the london area with someone who know these cars? Chris Turner reccomended someone the other night at the fairmile but time and alcohol have played thier part......

approx 76000 miles . Injectors have been mentioned by a few people.

Carrera did my injectors about a year ago, in a autoclav of all things, seems to have done the job.

Bob Watson nr Oxford - has prepared (& still prepares) many Porsche racers. He's an accomplished ex-racer himself & knows mfi inside out.

He has an excellent rolling road/dyno set-up & is used by other Porsche Specialists in the area (Autofarm, etc).

He transformed my standard 2.4T & achieved 152bhp (Factory figure was 140bhp).

Another thumbs-up for Bob - some nice feedback in this thread. Most (if not all) of the Tuthill-built cars go to Bobs for setup.
