Hi folks, just thought i would take the chance to say 'hello' and try out my new log in details - thanks Miggs.

I am lond time air cooled vw / porsche fan and own a 73 2 litre 914. have had it seven years and together we have travelled as far a field as east coast of italy and over the alps - I love driving my 914 - nothing else comes close for sheer driving pleasure. Have upgraded it with self built 2365cc t4 motor - genuine 2litre heads 911 fan etc - runs strong. Currently dilly-dallying getting to grips with much needed cosmetic rust repair and paint. Daily driver is a 1982 Porsche 924. Cheap as chips at £500(!) and a much underrated machine. Also have a beautiful 1958 beetle - bog stock (but slightly lowered!) and a Beach Buggy with 1500 cc Alfa sud motor (nuts! - built this almost 20 years ago).

Lookin' forward to communicatin'

x

Hi and a big welcome to DDK,

just bought a 914 myself (very similar engine mods to yours) but, as yet im to be convinced about the driving pleasure of it....especially through heavy traffic/towns..

DDK will be visiting Scotland next April (see thread in future events section) would be a great chance to meet up with us.

Cheers folks,

Yeh, been scouting around and see a good Scottish connection. 'In use' 914's can probably be counted on one hand up here tho' - we need to keep in touch.
It takes time to learn it, Helen - I think that makes it all the more satisfying.
Checked out the 'Scottish trip' posts - sounds great. What support! I will definately join in for the convoy and put some faces to names.
Ad - will experiment with the picture thing shortly!
