912 Engine & gearbox for sale

I have a complete 912 engine for sale. The engine was built on a 356 super 90 case (616/7) with all 912 internals and ancillaries. Its fitted with the Euro spec heating system, with larger type heat exchangers.

The unit underwent a strip and inspection by a very well known 912 engine specialist in June of 2003. It was then re-fitted to the car, which was damaged beyond repair shortly after (450 miles later!). Its been in dry storage ever since.

The invoice details the following work:

Strip top end. Inspect bottom end. De-carbonise and inspect pistons. Fit barrels. Clean and dismantle cylinder heads. Clean valves & re-cut seats. Install valves to factory spec. Clean tinware and fit to engine. Install distributor and ancillaries. Clean & rebuild carburettors, adjust float height and fit 130 main jets. Fit new seals. (£760)

The engine was prepared for storage, and now requires re-comissioning. During storage it was regularly turned over by hand to keep the internals lubricated - It still turns freely, but hasnt been run for a little over 3 years.

The heat exchangers are ratty with the odd patch, but look structurally good. The exhaust will probably need replacing. The engine is fitted with rebuilt Webers, including all linkages etc...

The matching 5-speed dogleg gearbox is also available if required.
