Just bought my first 914 ...

Post by Lightweight_911 »

I've never owned a 914 before (& only ever driven a couple - many years ago) so I decided to buy one...

Just bought the following car in the States - here are some brief details:

Originally a '74 2.0 model, it has been continually developed over the past 13 years by its previous owner.

Current spec is:

2.5 litre short-stroke twin-plug engine on Webers developing 214 bhp at the rear wheels (on headers & megaphones)

Rebuilt close-ratio 901 gearboxwith Rennshift short-shift (latest version incorporating reverse lock-out)

Uprated F&R suspension & Carrera 3.2 brakes

Factory chassis-stiffening kit & boxed trailing arms

Fuchs 7&8 x 15" wheels

914/6 GT- style bodywork with flares/ carbon fibre bonnet/grp engine lid

Full Safety Devices bolt-in rollcage with extensions

Fuel Safe fuel cell with s/s braided hoses

The car was built as a race/track car by its previous owner who is a well-known race car instructor (including working for Skip Barber) & it has competed at Watkins Glen/Sebring/etc.

I'm not overkeen on the paint scheme but that's a minor point...
