Heated front screen for 914

Post by fourteener »

Who would be interested in a heated front screen? No more fogging etc if you're running headers or your exchangers/heat ancillaries are not serviceable.
For a run of 15 I'm being quoted £170

I'd be up for it. No heating in the rally 914 but misting up is a pain in the ass so a big yes from me. Keep me posted.

Have you contacted Mike Karavasili? He was meant to be organising manufacture of heated screens a year or so ago.

Well I have heard that there was talk a while back about making a batch -eitnurg do you know what progress was made. :?:
Very early stages but the 911 screens draw 20-25 amps. I don't know yet about fit -hopefully these won't be like the Pilkington screens I have heard about. I will try and find out about green/grey tints also.
3 possible so far including my own

Don't know how far Mike got with it, think it was 99% there, he was just debating warranty issues or something. Just give him a ring - common courtesy, avoids reinvention, etc.

As I posted on the Yahoo UK914, I'm not seeking a business
opportunity I just want a heated screen for my 914 and need 14 others
to buy one.
I'd be happy If someone else has this ready and its not miles away from the price I've been quoted. I'm only at the enquiry stage -A few have enquired about tints and I'm being told the tint is green which will match my glass

Any update on this yet? no real rush... just wanted to state that I'm serious and not just a 'maybe' who's gonna vanish when it comes to the crunch.

Cheers

Back from the US now and the car's ready to come out from the workshop (rollcage install). Will need the screen soon, what's the latest update?

Cheers
