Help need fitting seats - please!!

Post by lcolvin »

My 71 911 had sc seats, I have bought a pair of original 72 seats with no frames to fit into the car.

Upon removing the sc seats I have a few questions.

Along the centre tunnel there is a welded plate with square holes - to lock the seat.

I obviously need a set of sliders to bolt to the floor plan. could any one advise where I can find a pair?

Also how does the seat sliding mechanism lock into the outside slider is there another ladder plate that goes there also?

If any one has a drawing / picture of what I am missing that would be great

PS If anyone wants the sc seats they are yours, one has large rip on base

Thanks

Lee

The locking lever for the front-to-rear adjustment of the seats is an integral part of the bottom of the seat (std ie non-sport seats).

The runners (sliders) bolt to the bottom of the seats & the raised sections of the floorpan (fixed section at side of the tunnel & bolt-on plates approx 2" wide at the door side).

Now that I've re-read the above it sounds very confusing - I'll see if I can find some pictures...

Andy

thanks for the reply, the front to rear mech is attached to the seat and I can see how one side attaches to the tunnel side, still a little confused withe outer side.

I do have some brackets that are about 2" wide that the SC sat on. These where fitted either side and fouling the ladder arrangement on the tunnel

Thanks

If you do have runners that would be great, still alittle confused on the outer dise as my seats have locking mechanisms on both sides. Does the bracket on the ouside have holes underneath for the seat to lock into

PM me on how much you want for the runners

thanks

Std seats only have locking mechanism on the tunnel side - are you sure they're Porsche seats (several other German cars of the same era used very similar-looking seats...) ?

Post a picture if you can.

They have slider mechanisms on both sides controlled by a single handle and an electrical connection on the bottom

Thanks
