911 interior light question

I just have a few qs about the interior/luggage light situ on a 911 '85 Carerra...

I guess the interior light/s are meant to come on when you open the door? mine dont - could be related to imoblizer etc, but they work of the rocker switch to turn on and off.

I fixed the front luggage light, so thats sorted.

Rear engine light situation, how does this work? do i just open the boot lid with the lights on and it illuminates? or can it be switched on by rotating that metal bulb cover?

Hi, I think that the engine compartment light will only work when the headlights are switched on and the silver cover turned.
