Hello and welcome Johnny - I'm sure there will be a Southern contingent attending this.

I will be there in my '66 911 (just so I can get in the pre 66 car park and not have to walk so far)

I'll be in London this weekend Sept 2-3. Can anyone come to this event? If not what else is going on near London that I could go to this weekend and maybe meet up with some early 911 owners?

Thanks Bobby

Hi Bobby,

It's good to see another Pelican poster over here on DDK. If I was going this weekend I would offer to pick you up. I am sure someone will chime in and help as it always nice to meet up with our Porsche friends across the pond.

Are you over here on holiday or business? If you have the time you are welcome to come down to Bournemouth but it is a 1:50 min train journey.

Cheers

Alan

Yes! Anyone can come but you need an advance ticket which can be collected on the door. This sort of motoring history & heritage is on a par with Le Mans Classic.

The nearest railway station is Chichester, an hour and a quarter journey time direct from London.

Don't forget to dress in theme. Most people wear clothing that wouldn't have looked out of place in the 40s, 50s or 60s.

Im going Friday

Can't go :(

If you haven't been before:-

I have been before - excellent atmosphere. The racing is brill but very hard to see unless you can get into a grandstand - it's worth buying the dvd to watch the racing later

For the dress I got a sports jacket and cravat from a charity shop - alternatively a set of overalls with a shirt & tie underneath looks about right.

They are much stricter about pits access than at the festival of speed - you can't get in without a pass and I don't think they are easy to come by.

Have a great time and don't forget to post some pictures
