Hello and welcome Johnny - I'm sure there will be a Southern contingent attending this.
2006 RHD 997 Carrera (but DDK remains in my heart - also now no longer)
1972 LHD 2.4T with '73 2.4T CIS motor - gone to a new DDK home
1994 RHD 993 Carrera - gone!
1968 LHD 911L - was the Wife's but now in new hands

Hi Bobby,
It's good to see another Pelican poster over here on DDK. If I was going this weekend I would offer to pick you up. I am sure someone will chime in and help as it always nice to meet up with our Porsche friends across the pond.
Are you over here on holiday or business? If you have the time you are welcome to come down to Bournemouth but it is a 1:50 min train journey.
Cheers
Alan

Yes! Anyone can come but you need an advance ticket which can be collected on the door. This sort of motoring history & heritage is on a par with Le Mans Classic.Bobboloo wrote:Can anyone come to this event?

The nearest railway station is Chichester, an hour and a quarter journey time direct from London.

Thanks for all the replies.
I'm in town visiting my fiancee. I'll be staying at her place in Mortlake.
Andy,
If I can arrange to get in I'll call you when I get there. I'm sending a request for an invitation via the link provided.
David,
Here's my fiancees' cell #44 793-151-8516.

Can't go
If you haven't been before:-
I have been before - excellent atmosphere. The racing is brill but very hard to see unless you can get into a grandstand - it's worth buying the dvd to watch the racing later
For the dress I got a sports jacket and cravat from a charity shop - alternatively a set of overalls with a shirt & tie underneath looks about right.
They are much stricter about pits access than at the festival of speed - you can't get in without a pass and I don't think they are easy to come by.
Have a great time and don't forget to post some pictures
