Why do dealers who have a few scrap porsches in there yard think they have a gold mine sat outside. Ive been in search of a LHD pedal assembly for my G50 conversion and had possibly found on in a scrap yard up north. The guy said he thinks he should have one but it could be in one of 3 cars, Has long has the car it was in hasnt gone to the crusher he will have it. He was asking 225 + vat and shipping for a part thats so sort after he may have sent to the crusher in the car.
Just out of curiosity to start with I went to mittlemotor in germany and as porsche do not do full pedal assembleys I priced up every component needed to make a brand new unit from scratch. Ive just orderd the entire 26 parts needed to make a G50 pedal assembly for £205 including UPS shipping from germany. I just find it anoying that theres a perfectly good usable used part possibly sat 40 miles from me but its owner is too greedy to sell it for what such a part is worth and as it is it probably will end up going to the crusher unless someone with more money than sence comes along and buy's it. Since when did used parts become more valuble then readily available new ones?
