911 cam cover torque value

What is the torque for the upper/lower cam cover nuts? I fitted some new gaskets and torqued them to 15ft/lbs but it doesn't seen to be squashing the gaskets on the ends (haynes manual has no data on this as you would expect) .
The engine is on a stand and when its rotated some oil is weeping out.
(lower cam covers are not turbo but have been milled flat)

Stop right there!

15lbs ft should be enough to compress the gasket..it seems sensible to ask whether there is something stopping it..

I'd take the covers off, fit no gasket and fit plain 8mm nuts and run them down by hand with a spinner..the cover may have been machined so much that it is now hitting something..

FWIW, thwe silicon gaskets are the Bizz..and all you need do with most similar gesketed joints is tighten until the gasket visibly moves..

Thanks for the reply David (Tres fast). Thats a good Idea to try without the gasket. The machinist only took a few thou off but you never know.
Does anyone use any kind of sealant?

I use the standard Porsche supplied gaskets with no sealer. I don't torque them dow, just "nip" them up. I don't usually have any problems unless one of the surfaces have been damaged.

Cleaned up and left for an hour or two. No leaks.....perhaps some residue from assembly
