Replacement air filters, 2.2 on webbers

Post by JonnyG »

Does anybody have experience of K & N filters for each bank of carbs ? I want to get a little more power with this and a twin pipe box (which I will fit when I buy new exchangers). But meantime I want to change the air intake. It looks straightforward, any suggestions of where to buy. Have found a rolling road in Sittingbourne who can do set up after.

I put a K&N cylinder filter in my standard box - clean it say twice a year.

Looks standard . . . not sure it does anything for performance.

Hello, Jonny.

There is no power gain with k+N's..there have been several well-done dyno tests to show this convincingly.
And low down power actually drops..lack of intake resonance..
Try a search of pelican...

And they do not remove fine dust loike the stock filter.

Some folk fit them for the noise, and some for the look.

I'd avoid them.

Kind regards
David

Interesting, thanks for the wisdom and thanks for the offer Alan, I'll have a rethink maybe. I probably have alot of other things that really need doing on the car first. Just so I know what do you want for them Alan ?

Thanks
Jonny
