1973 RSR evocation
Something to consider regarding road use. If you have an accident without a helmet on and hit your head on the roll cage tube near the door top you might be in trouble. With plenty of padding it should be okay but just something to remember.

Re: 1973 RSR evocation
you are right bruce but yes it will be padded with that surprisingly hard FIA stuff:
http://www.msar-safety.com/detail.asp?p ... ge_Padding
and with the super low seat mounts and recaros and harnesses, my head should be well below the rail
watch this video...i could not believe they were helmetless...

Re: 1973 RSR evocation
thanks Jason...ummed and arred over body colour or not but in the end went for it964RS wrote:looks great - love the cage!
its a Tuthill rally spec cage, possibly overkill for my needs but certainly adds safety and stiffness as well as some weight. havent weighed it yet but did the following in mitigation:
- rear qtrs and rear windscreen changed to 4mm lexan (plastics for performance)
- all interior carpet, trim and sound deadening gone
- twin battery setup swapped for one smaller one
so hopefully shouldnt weigh much more than it did

Re: 1973 RSR evocation
You've certainly invested some serious time and money into this car and although I think lots if people would have been hesitant using quite an expensive and nice base car to do so I think what you've finished with looks great!
Can't wait to see it in the flesh.
Been going through thoughts on whether or not I should keep mine again (GT3's are getting silly cheap) but as the battery is now fully charged I would expect that by tomorrow night all those thoughts will have disappeared again...it's been 6 months...need to blow the cobwebs away!!!!
