SSI's no more....heating solution is a heated front screen and a motorbike heated gilet for winter (another reason to have that new 12v socket)
noise test marshall "whats your rev limit?" me "6000 rpm guv". no redline..no argument?
not quite the sepia brown T that left the factory in 73!
one of my best mates is picking this up tomorrow...a 65 2 litre car...lovely delicate thing in comparison to the RSR.

of course Ian. i will be at silverstone a couple of times in the summer...your local track? hows the 964?

Let me know when and we can catch up. 964 is great as a regular driver but I need to get it raised a little as too low, but of to Center Gravity next week.

Wow! - car looks great.
That strengthening piece looks like a good idea - presumably something Tuthills have developed to help their rally cars

Dan, I was looking at doing that one too. It's listed as 'Novice' but I'm slow enough to not trouble anyone, so I reckon I could get a place. However, it's a 102db session. I REALLY doubt I'd get passed on that sound check. Even with 'caps on'. Usually I'm 105db and struggling at that.
Are you confident about laying out your money and making the trip down to Kent?
If I thought I'd get on I might join you. 102db is tough for an early 911. I've paid out £250 and travelled to a circuit before, only to sit the day out as a spectator. Trust me, it's no fun.
That was a 100db day but then again it was only in my standard 2.4S. In my ST looky-likey I never consider 100db days.

funnily enough I got the paper confirm through and it mentioned the 102 but I never saw it when I booked it. In theory the exhaust is c. 104db so would fail. Interestingly they paperwork says "may be tested" and I dont recall noise tests before at brands.
tbh I am in 2 minds as a friend may have a spare place at goodwood on a 105db on Thu 19th, which wld be much preferred.
am also looking into supertrapp bolt on silencers
will keep you posted! am not novice either but figured I am a novice in this car

exactly. think something similar shown in the 911 rally car thread
have also fitted some triangular weld in fillets to the leading edges of the jacking points...strength and (on a rally car) stops damage from flying stones

I went to an MSV track day at Brands a few weeks ago and they did noise test every car. Was 105dB however.

you are right they are virtually identical. I will post up some more shots over the weekend when I finally take ownership. I have some q cool kit on there you might like...
so many RSR's on here recently I think we need to organise an RSR track day or meet !
