I suppose the question is now, did they do any checks, were there any cars told not to come back, or was it just all bluster? We may not know until 2025.
A friend did the Sprite race they had a few years ago, in his uncle’s original Speedwell and said he wouldn’t be back in it as tge vast majority of the grid were the modern f/glass kit versions which the drivers were happy to drive like Touring Cars. But if those cars weren’t there the race would not have happened. As that is Charlie’s problem. How many of the GT40s and Cobras are genuine and not Kirkhams or Superfasts with a genuine chassis plate and Reg Nr popped on?

A number of 356s, including our own Robert Barrie, plus a couple of 904s and a 906. No 911s, though.

Thank you! I literally couldn't see a thing on the Friday - thankfully things much better on the Saturday!

Clearly there is "cheating" or else why do this - It would have needed some action to have been taken to make it real though.................otherwise "empty threat?"

A number of cars in different races started at the back of the grid, due to unspecified 'technical infringements' but were then very fast in the race. I wonder if this had anything to do with the subject matter of this thread?

I think it can never be a level playing field. Basically, any advantages some manufacturers had in quality/clever setup is now general knowledge. The lightest cars with the greatest displacement win. Take one of these monsters back in the time machine and they would be very competitive.
