Badge looks far from factory!

Next he be say that a rare factor option on the 914 was to fit Riviera wheels on the front only and keep the steels on the rear with spacers.

The driver side floor pan, the rust is obvious - is this mostly likey coming from the "hell hole" and down? The hell hole from the top dosent look too bad? unless its hiding a hidden previous repair? whats the chance of the it being more localised to the floor, i guess i'll find out the hardway!

On the brightside it checks out as a genuine 914/6, im gonna make a cheeky offer, non runner, rust, etc, and all that, and lets be fair - all the risk is on my side....it still a 6 for rebuild costs, etc. If he dosent bite, then i'll pass it on to someone else to buy instead, as i'd rather not be too deep on it.

I was in contact with the seller on pelican for the 914/6 rep and its a really good car, well spec'd and could be a great start at project for the money.
I found an '88 3.2 project for slightly cheaper price locally so couldnt resits or this 914/6 would be on a boat to UK

Some good links there! Definatly food for thought, the price of that pelican one was particularly good. The 914/6 i was chasing ive let go, he wanted far more than i thought it was worth, especially for a non-runner, with plenty of hidden rust. Let another buyer (sold now) take the risk, i buy with my eyes open lol!

I will continue my search, but only with one eye open. There are a gazillion other aircooled porsche i like, so its just a matter of what comes i long first. I missed a RHD 912 for about £12k (thats a guess on the price, it was at £8k last i saw it) on ebay last week, while waiting for more photos of the 914/6. I should have pounced, that was by far the rarer car!

I'll probally opt for a 2.0 914 in the meantime and get a /6 one day.
