went down to DubAid today near Malmesbury - a charity event VW based. Nice friendly show. Received a lot of complimentary comments on Kev which was nice. Only Speedster there tho....
Great weather and got sun burnt!

Looking good, glad you got there in the end. I'm road legal but run out of cash to finish it. Can't see it being on the road this year really, it cost a hell of a lot more than I could have ever imagined.
Enjoy the weather.

afraid not - only found this picture cos my daughter took it on my phone - spent most of the day just chatting to folks.
guess there were over 100 buses, t4's, a few beetles, several bajas, couple of military VWs, and mine. Pics will be up on there website in next couple of days.

Paul,,Looking very nice indeed..
Your rear end looks quite low

judging by the amount camber you have a swing axle rear end just like me, surely you must be on the bump stops which tends to give a 'hard' ride. ?
I have now done a couple of hundred miles in mine and found that raising the suspension at the back helped the handling a lot,(I have adjustable spring plates), I also needed to shorten the standard shocks at the front and an additional caster shim really made a difference to the straight line handling.
In addition I also bought a 'TrackAce' laser DIY tracking adjusting kit and set-up both the front and rear tracking , which again made improvements to the handling.
My speedster now handles very nice.

It was bouncing off the bump stops! Its bottoming out a little and needs raising one notch I think. Gary has kindly offered to adjust it for me but its finding time to get up there...
I understand the hubs will need to come off and the side plate (?) turned on the torsion beam - probably not the right phrase but I think I know what I mean lol! Had a look for vid of swing axle beam being raised but can't find one. Might have a go this weekend - learns me something!
It handles ok - in a straight line there are no problems. Need tracking setting up again but will do that after the suspension is at the right height. Front could do with dropping an inch - thats easy as got adjusters

Once you change the hight you will need to set the tracking and the rear toe. Just be careful as the rear hubs and spring plates are under a lot of tention so when you unbolt them they will want to spring down with lots of force! I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong!

Good luck

Get some more pictures up of Kev from the sides etc.
I didnt think it looked too bad when I saw it but they do change a little with use / settling etc.

Paul,
There are plenty of links on how to raise or lower the spring plates in the Volkszone forums. It is not a difficult job and the speedster is heavy enough so you can use the jack to support the tension of the spring plate. By your pictures it looks like 1 notch down will do it, i.e i 1 notch anticlockwise.
Tracking needs to be 30' toe in at the front and the rear -5' to +10' i.e straight as near as dammit
