Thanks Steve, I missed your post by 2 mins, and had gone up the road to Paragon. They said that they had some old stock on the shelf that I was welcome to go through ....
Anyway, they had two types, the one that duplicates the ones that Dave Mac had sent through (8mm holes) plus these other ones. These are listed as '87 - on' and are LOBRO's. They are identical to the ones on the car, except are 32mm thick, instead of 30mm, and they've got 6x10mm holes, instead of 4x 10mm + 2x 8mm ones.
So the good news is that I have two brand spankers, good make, joints in my sweaty paws.
The bad news was the price: they were retailing them at 147.oo plus vat (no wonder they hadn't shifted them). I did a deal for two at 89 plus vat (each

). On the other hand, they are a good make, and obviously there's no P&P.
TBH, I was just keen to get this resolved, and could hardly say 'thanks a lot Paragon, I'll just take these numbers, and place my order somewhere cheaper'
Anyway, here're the numbers:
C1531001990 50 LOBRO 39 98 (I assume the last four are the production dates, knowing that they have been on the shelf for yonks.
STOP PRESS!!
Dave Mac have just phoned, and have sorted which joints they are, which we've gone through dimension by dimension. Needless to say they're a fraction of the Paragon price. Net result, I'm going to use just one of the Paragon ones, simply because the shaft is already apart and just needs the one new joint. I think that the ever-helpful Carl will take the other one back O.K. as I do give them a bit of parts business.
Dave Mac are sending down another two joints, which will allow me to either replace one on the other side, and retain a spare, or to do both and keep the best of the replaced joints as a spare (most likely). This is the shaft with a little play on the inner, no play on the outer, and no noise.
Hopefully this will resolve the whole issue, and I'll end up with one fully reconditioned shaft, and one with a new and a cleaned-up joint, all for about 50 pounds less than the best price on one re-con shaft.
I'll post up the Dave Mac part numbers when they arrive. BTW, the carriage for getting the joints here for tomorrow (sat) was going to be nearly 30 pounds, so as the car should be mobile again anyway today, I'll do the other one later on, and go for a 'normal' carriage.
