He's my nephew – Tris showed an interest at about 14, from what I gather, and went on to become runner-up in the Young Guitarist of the Year competition where one of the judges, a certain Gordon Giltrap, was more impressed with him than the winner, so took him under his wing. Since then, he's gone on to become one of the most respected 'finger style' acoustic guitarists in the UK, and beyond, and has played many solo performances as well as with many of the greats of the folk and guitar world.
