Facebook marketplace and Gumtree can often throw up some used deals. Usually Halfords Pro stuff, which more than decent enough for a home setup.

In my garage I have built really sturdy timber 2 tiered benches with treat 100mm sq posts (probably over the top), designed with different heights and depths for different tasks. Then topped with formica/laminated kitchen worktops (again freely sourced or for not much £ on FB marketplace), some sections I have topped with stainless sheets that I have acquired over the years. I have 3 top boxes from Halfords Pro range.

This guy has quite a bit of used stuff, depends if you're near Burton.

I acquired some Dura Cabinets but I have some extra tall kitchen wall cabinets down the side which are sturdy and work well.

Excellent strong cheap benches can be made from proper industrial pallet racking. Find nearby scrapper, second hand dealer, beams of the length you require and some matching legs, which can often be found as offcuts. Assemble at the width you want and weld the joints. Then trawl FB for used Clarke HD+ tool cabinets, I have found these to be very good indeed, and virtually indestructible. W

I’ve got those - they are pretty good. Draws don’t roll as well as halford professional ones I got ages ago though

Update!

I found that big shiny black toolbox for £100 less so bit the bullet. It’s pretty great for £600 I’d say.

And got some slightly bent used metal cupboards from a used office supplies place. Bent them back straight with a hammer like I’m Barry Carter.

Good result and I highly approve of the Yellow and Green colour scheme

I thought you might. It wasn’t intentional but seemed so obvious once I started painting.

The yellow is to match the ramp beds. It’s not quite so canary in real life.
