Postimage compresses my photos horribly. Must start using a better image hosting solution...

And here are yet more 914s, playing variations of Saint Clements (oranges and lemons), all different tones to those earlier in the thread...:

It might help the colour triva quiz to know that in the UK model year 1972 there were 6 911 examples painted colour by sample. Among my papers I have a colour breakdown analysis for 911 model that was prepared in 1973 (dated end of October so assume it is summarizing sales year not calendar year basis). Pepared for an internal PCGB importer and their UK dealer principal meeting I think. Seem to be typed on old school foolscap same typeface and old paper as my pricelists from those years. Presumably data was drawn directly from the PCGB Isleworth sales data for new cars going to South Street. It doesn't specifically list / breakdown the names for those six colour by sample within that generic term. On the UK for model 72 thre were 23 discrete colours listed if colour by sample is counted as one.

Got similar but for 73 stapled to it prepared same date by which time all RHD Inc Targas; however that breaks it into colour by sample and metallic colour by sample, but no more specific than those generic two terms either.

I suppose the leading lights of Porsche sales and marketing n UK were collectively trying to understand the colour fashions and trends of 72/73 as an agenda item on their jolly ...errm... working trip.

Also somewhere got the itinerary for a trip to Europe with many of the founders of the dealerships that sometimes bore their names and senior folks from PCGB. Gives loads of detail of trip e.g. flights cost checkin meeting place and several days aganda etc. Off hand can't recall if it is same date as this analysis or it was for another meeting agenda I've got in London.

Probably no big stretch to guess the top colour for 911 in GB those two years ( Rennsport Collective carpark northern contingent convoy not eligible to guess as I told you!!!)
