I had this work done to mine and it's very involved and hence very expensive. If when done it ends up a presentable driveable car it would fetch around 13-15k.
I would suggest the work will be at least 4-5k if done properly so working back and allowing a reduction for the pain in the ass and risk of having the work done I would say 7-8k

Who did the engine rebuild and what is the size and spec? Where were the heads from and is it on carbs or fuel injection?

The engine was rebuilt by Canada garage in North Walsham - he used to look after the car for dad. Apparently he has a good name locally for looking after/prepping classic race and rally cars. The heads came from the US and are 2.0L heads and is fuel injected.

I have asked him to get it MOT-able so at least its road worthy and can be sold as a usable car, I may well then get it done next year.

Really don't know what to do - its causing problems with the family as some want to get rid and some want to keep it - starting to get me down to be honest.

I don't think that's something that can be patched up for an MoT. It's too far gone for that. You're either doing it or not.

We're doing it!!

I need both rear jacking points and a left hand floor pan. I can get them from the US but its going to be about $1,000 all told.

Can I get them in the UK?

Any ideas guys?

Haven't done research on the rear floor pan, but may be of some use on the rear jacking points.

I recently replaced mine. Sometimes they get called "gussets" <snigger>.

At that time they were cheaper than from Restoration Design, and when they arrived guess what, they had restoration design stickers on them.

I think RD are now cheaper direct, but don't know how it compares once you add shipping. RD will probably do the rear floor pan too.

I haven't replaced panels on mine for some time, but when I did Mittelmotor was worth a look too, if you can get over the clunky website.

Restoration Design as James mentions are probably best and have all the bits you need.

I bought mine from Roger Bray before RD were over here so might be worth speaking to them too.

I have emailed and called Roger Bray, waiting for a reply. I have also emailed Design Restoration for a shipping price and lead time.

Does anyone have an email for 914er? Their website doesn't have an email on it (or any contact info!) but I'd like to know the shipping prices.

Mittel Motor is OK but and in english but when you get down into the meat of the site its all in German and no photos so dont have a clue what I am looking at on their site.

I've looked everywhere else online in the UK, Karmann Konnection etc but no joy.

If anyone can give me some help i'd really appreciate it!

I agree the Mittlemotor site is a joke at the moment. However I'm told they speak good English, so it might be worth a call.

I second, the only way to deal with mittlemotor is by phone.
Roger Bray may not always be the cheapest but give the confidence of a UK company and I've always found Mark to be very good. If you need lots of bits it may be worth a drive down

Have to agree with comments on Roger Bray. Mark knows his stuff but he is usually very busy & you may have to pester him for a reply.
