Bert has said everything there is to say about the 3.3. It can be infuriatingly slow if you are pottering or chatting to your passenger and not keeping an eye open for overtaking opportunities or stunningly quick if you grab by the scruff of the neck and wring it out on a mountain road. I loved mine, took it to France twice where you have more opportunity to use the performance.

They can be very expensive to maintain if someone has scrimped in the past, but are bullet proof if looked after.

As a relativey new first time owner to both Porsches and 930'S I agree with Nick's comments.

My first trip was with the family aboard 2000miles across Europe on every type of road you can think of, inc. gravelled alpine mountain pass. It just ate up the miles and fuel especially on the motorway, 125mph all day long if you can find enough road.

The 930 can be very docile when you want or when the wife won't let you and then on your own it can be a lot of fun as it takes a lot of practice to drive well.

When I go for a blast I drive on the same mountian roads Ferrari use for testing their road cars which as you would imagine is a very demanding collection of corners. On this sort of road you do need to concentrate and as said before a NA car would be quicker as you don't have to worry about power delivery so much.

The turbo lag is part of it's character and you have to be a little careful of not the car in front when you overtake but the car that is 3 cars ahead as they usually don't see you coming up so fast.

Mileage is about right as well. If so it's a cracking car, I really enjoyed the year I had with it. Unfortunately the track bug started to bite and it was far too nice for that so I let it go and bought a 3.2 Carrera.

I bought it at the beginning of 06 and sold it on in autumn 06. It was a great car, almost concours condition! Will PM you my number.

I just deleted what i just typed, as i said what i thought of the dealership. Because....

The price has just been changed (from £25k) to £34995 with no explanation!

It seems we are our own worst enemy sometimes !!
Do we ask about a car to find out more information before leaping in there, or do we say little as no doubt alerting the wider market to a potential bargain could either see it snapped up by someone else or as in this case I suspect, more demand suddenly dictates a higher price !!
I'm the impulsive type that just jumps in with both feet and regrets it later !!

Good point. although similar description, i just noticed after you said that. The other one had silver centres.

there were 2 silver turbo's at the same dealer in the first post, wonder if Del's mate bought the other one at the original price, seemed like a good buy.

That's right there were.

When Sam rang him, he said one has definitely been sold and the other is due in.

Every other day Sam rang to ask if the one that is due has come in, and the answer was always "not yet" He was always very short on the phone, giving very little details or info about either car over the phone.

Now, the one that was defintely sold, appears to be for sale, only £10k more.

I bet the one that is "due in" is also with him already. Sounds very odd to me.

I phoned "Thunder Road" last week re two 911 Turbos which appeared on their website both @ £25,000 or thereabouts and was told both had been sold. I'm sure (from the description) that one of them was this car which had "been sold to a local enthusiast who doesn't keep his cars very long so may sell it again soon"
I hadn't realised that not "very long" meant a week and an increase of around nine grand ! (alledgedly) - wouldn't have minded it for twenty five thou !
