I've found some replacement parts on ebay

Guess this is. I suppose I could strip it down, see what I need and then wait for these from the USA. Anyone know where these can be bought in the UK?

Also, speedy cables instrument division tell me they will repair it for £50 + vat and carriage. They responded very quickly and seem like a professional group, anyone any experience with them. I fancy trying this myself, especially as I've been offered advice on tap from a friendly experienced DDKer 8) just down the road but I might chicken out if I can't get the bits. Speedy cables price seems reasonable.

Hmmm, Those parts are plastic.... the one that was worn in my speedo was Brass..... I'll try to take a photo.

The worn part shown is the embedded in the main cable mounting collar, held in with a ball bearing.
