Hopefully it will, just figuring the best way forward on the deal. Not ideal when you can't physcially get to see the car. I have been in contact with a couple of independent specialists out in the US but they don't seem to be in too much of a hurry to help!

shipping is easy

to transport the car to the docks... I whole heartedly use www.intercitylines.com ( web sites seams slow must be a problem)

I just will not use any one else you pay a few more $$ but what it's picked up like, it will 100% be dropped off in the same condition.. they are that good..Husband and wife teams..

I get nothing from it other than seeing you get your car safe from a to b

Learn from other peoples mistakes. I had a 54 Pre A that the truck firm bumped the nose !! all for using just any old truck company..

I'm a newbie just up the road from you in Washington. I am bang in the middle of importing a 914 from California, so I will let you know how it goes The car is due into Felixstowe with an eta of 12 April.

They ship out of Rancho Dominguez in Ca so luckily getting it there wasn't too much of a problem. I used Rinkens in the US and they liaise with Kingstown, who are in Hull.

It's actually been pretty painless so far (I know I'm tempting fate so i'll say no more until I get the car safe and sound) and I'm hoping it stays that way.

I'll let you know what problems I encounter as they happen

I'm a new Northerner too - and my take on DDK is they seem to embrace the whole gamut from 'as left the factory' to 'slightly changed... a bit '- the main thing is we all share a common passion.

I looked at a 914/6 conversion before I bought my 911 ... If only I had a larger garage and bank balance!

I'm looking forward to the first Northern DDK meet - if it's in Lancashire, passports will be needed from the Yorkshire contingent...obviously

Welcome Stu, plenty of Northerners on here, not all with running cars either so no need to worry if you dont have one yet - in fact you'd sometimes mistake our gatherings as VAG meets
