ali swing arms etc

Gearbox needs to come out of my '73 as it seems to have developed a selection problem. While it's away I intend to modify the rear end. I was going to uprate from steel to alloy trailing arms. I think the ones to use are 74 on. Question is 74 on to what? Is it just the 74 to 77 or do the SC ones fit too? Also do these bolt straight on or does anything else need to be modded?

Also thinking of uprating to adjustable radius arms. The ones between the torsion bar and the trailing arm. Anybody know who supplies them and roughly what one should expect to pay?

Re adjsutable plates there are the stock ones from the SC/3.0ltr or you can get whiz bang uber cool ones from Elephant Racing for USD1200!

Anybody know where I can get a pair of '74 ali arms please?

I can't remember exactly where I saw then but they were on ebay Germany a few days ago.

Early ali arms with ball socket anti-roll bar joints.

Still need a pair of adjustable spring plates though. Am I correct in saying that anything fits '78 SC through 3.2 carrera until that car went to the G50 'box

I bought my adjustable spring plates from Parts Heaven in California last year. Very well priced too !!

Keith, you'll find that one of the two eccentric bolts on the AL trailing arms is different than that used on the steel arms. Also, the shock attachment bolt that is used on the AL arms differs from that used on the steel arms. Make sure you get all these bits from whomever you purchase the AL amrs from.
