I googled this as the first dim idea bloomed in my head yesterday
but found the same TBH,

Does ANYONE have any pictures to inspire me

The car was originally tangerine but re painted gold at some point but it was just a quick blowover so the gold could be painstakingly removed revealing the original paint underneath,the sills are a bit rusty,and there are a few knocks and bangs on it,but I think it would look good,old dull tangerine with scuffs and knocks,or I could just matt black the whole thing and chalk some stripes on it?!!

great site,this has really got me thinking now,why spend all that money on the outside,just spend it on the important parts like drivetrain brakes etc etc,leave the rusty sills and wing and the rear arch scuff where the wheel fell off at speed!
But polishing all the gold paint off is going to be a big job! but would'nt it look cool.

perhaps we could develop the
'DDK distress in a can' kit

Sugar soap
lightly abrasive brillo pads (2)
stick on mildew for rubber trim

and stuck on box top as POS sweetener
a slick50 sticker for after.

if we start testing now we can rebox some poundstretcher products
already out there for the Xmas 08' market

Ha ha ha I like that idea!!!

I could have a sweep around my garage and sort out some "Patina in a tin" or can of rust!!!

My car will definatly not need this though!!!

As a poster mentioned P1,

the sun bleached Cal-look, is a fine target,
to go with my 'Jason Donovan bleached hair'

Although given our climate I suspect a green moss/jagged rusty edging
to the erstwhile zinc treated panels might be more likey an outcome
