912 piston and cylinders
I have a 68 912 with a broken piston. When sourcing a used replacement what do I need to look for? Is there a difference in different years of manufacture? If I buy from another year engine will the cylinders and pistons fit?

Hello, wilkie.
I guess you already know that its not a great idea to mixnmatch anything if you can avoid it.
There are plenty of good reasons to try to save up enough to buy new pistons, and bore the cylinders...not least the reciept when you come to sell the car!
But befoe going any further, what you need to find is the fundamental cause of the failure..it will only recur.
Kind regards
David
